Arsenal hosts Aston Villa
Arsenal hosts Aston Villa at the Emirates in a match from the 8th round of the Premier League. Stay with us and let’s take a look at it in this preview for the fixture.
Arsenal will try to move a little bit up in the standings. The Gunners are 9th in the standings with 12 points, but a win on Sunday would help them to move up in the table. They need to boost their confidence as they lost two of their last three matches in the Prem.
Last weekend Arsenal enjoyed their 4th win for the season. And it was a great win for sure. Mikel Arteta’s team paid a visit to Manchester United at the Old Trafford and celebrated a terrific 1-0 win. It was Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang who scored the only goal in the game from a penalty kick in the 69th minute. For the Gunners it was a good feeling to beat one of their historic rivals again.
Aston Villa started their season very well – with four consecutive wins, but they lost their last two matches against Leeds United and Southampton. It’d be interesting to see if they can get back on their feet and start winning again. Their most impressive result this season was the amazing 7-2 win over the champion Liverpool.
Last week Villa lost for a second time this season. Dean Smith’s team hosted Southampton and lost with 3-4 at the Villa Park. Tyrone Mings, Ollie Watkins and Jack Grealish scored for the Birmingham side, but it was actually not enough for them.
That’s our preview for the Premier League clash between Arsenal and Aston Villa at the Emirates on Sunday. Arsenal return to action after a match in Europa League on Thursday, so we expect to see Arteta rotating the squad a little bit.
